About Breeders
Breeders are the future of our breed! Many NEAA members are AKC Breeders of Merit and all agree to the code of ethics.
Not all Breeders are alike. There are AKC Breeders of Merit, NEAA responsible breeder members, commercial breeders, backyard breeders and puppy mills. Â
Champion breeding stock, breeder knowledge, pedigree research, health and DNA testing are all factors for healthy and happy dogs.
Puppy socialization and litter evaluation demand enormous time and attention.Â
Rescue vs Rehome
Rescue is of unknown origin, usually a stray or shelter dog. Temperament, history and health is unknown.
Rehome is of known origin, usually with history and health records. Why Rehome a Dog?
- Owners that can no longer keep a dog due to job or life changes.
- Family emergencies such as death, hospitalization or assisted living.
- Retired champions or young adults that are not of breeding quality.
